Stellantis will exclusively produce in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, the new 6.2-liter V8 HEMI TRX engine for the Ram 1500 TRX, while the truck will be assembled in Derramadero, integrating both processes within the state.
Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, August 11, 2026.– Stellantis confirmed that the production of the new HEMI TRX engine will take place exclusively at its North Engine Plant, located in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, making this facility the company's only plant in the world responsible for manufacturing this high-performance powertrain.
The program represents the return to Coahuila of the manufacturing of the 6.2-liter V8 HEMI engine, now destined to power the new Ram 1500 TRX. With this assignment, Ramos Arizpe resumes the production of one of the engines associated with high-performance vehicles in the U.S. automotive industry and strengthens the operation's specialization in the manufacturing of powertrains.
The production of the HEMI TRX will be linked to another Stellantis operation within the state. The new Ram 1500 TRX will be assembled at the company's complex located in Derramadero, south of Saltillo. In this way, the engine will be manufactured in Ramos Arizpe and subsequently the truck will be assembled in Derramadero, concentrating two fundamental processes of this international automotive program in the Southeast Region of Coahuila.
During the launch of the program, Simón Rodríguez Oyervides, HEMI Center Manager, highlighted that the assignment represents recognition of the technical capacity developed by the workers and the specialization achieved by the plant in the manufacturing of high-performance engines.
The manufacturing of the new powertrain involves specialized personnel from different areas, including assembly, training, dynamometer, manufacturing, and quality management. These teams participate in the different stages of production and validation of the HEMI TRX engine.
For his part, José Pagano, Manufacturing Vice President Powertrain, recognized the work of the collaborators involved in the program and highlighted the experience and technical knowledge of the personnel in charge of bringing the new engine into production.
The return of the HEMI also represents continuity for an industrial specialization that for years linked Coahuila with the manufacturing of engines for high-performance vehicles. The operation will be able to take advantage of infrastructure, specialized personnel, manufacturing processes, and a supplier network developed around the automotive industry.
For the Southeast Region of Coahuila, the assignment keeps specialized and high-value-added processes related to the manufacture of engines and vehicles within the territory. The program requires skilled labor and a supply chain linked to these operations, which represents a new boost for the regional automotive cluster.
With the start of the program, Ramos Arizpe will concentrate the global production of the HEMI TRX, while Derramadero will be in charge of assembling the new Ram 1500 TRX. The integration of both operations reinforces Coahuila's participation within Stellantis' North American automotive chain and returns the manufacturing of an emblematic Ram brand engine to the state.
